The Apples In Stereo
The Discovery Of A World Inside The Moone (CD)
The third album from Apples In Stereo combines the usual Phil Spector and Beatles influences, opening with the wonderful Go, a perfect slice of indie rock psychadelia. But the surprisingly big production combines with the band's ever present exuberance to become rather tiring after only a few songs, making listening to the record an arduous task where it should have been a pleasure. In isolation many of the songs are very fine, not least The Bird That You Can't See, but overall this is just too big an album for mortal man to cope with.
