The Lotus Eaters

Reviews

Silentspace (CD) Vinyl Japan
Guitars jangle pleasantly, synths pulse and whine inoffensively, and the vocals drift gently over the top of it all, but the excessive production swamps the songs and turns this record into pleasant but uninteresting background music. To be fair it is almost twenty years since the band hit the charts with The First Picture Of You, so sounding as contemporary as pre-Brit Pop indie dance, as Silentspace often does, is still an achievement of sorts. A coffee table curiosity for those of us who remember 1983.
