Beginning the last few days of October, 2007, we began to experience a threefold increase in bandwidth, causing the site to be shut down about Noon every day, to be resumed at Midnight. This happened rather suddenly and was not accompanied by any increase in the number of page hits. We decided the simplest solution to be merely to move to another server. Henceforth you will find us here. Please change your bookmarks accordingly.

After deleting all pages except the index page and the Challenging Problems pages we experienced a drastic drop in bandwidth. On November 3 we put back the Jersey Devil and Marilyn Is Right pages and the traffic was up to limit levels. We removed the Jersey Devil pages and still reached limit levels with the Marilyn Is Right pages. These pages average 36k, including images, and the reported number of average page hits was 155. This amounts to 5.6 Megabytes. Since the bandwidth limit is 16.7 Mb. per day we conclude that our bandwith is being overreported by a factor of 3; hence the move to another server.

This is a mathematics site devoted to solutions to problems.
