Lesson 9 - The Minor Triad
The minor triad is the second most important triad in music. It is used for three of the secondary chords in a major key.
Lower Interval: Minor ThirdThe tonal focus of the minor triad is a little less than that of the major. With the perfect fifth interval for the outer notes still intact, the tonal emphasis is still with the root. The major third interval between the 3rd and 5th shifts a little of the focus to the third.
Upper Interval: Major Third
Outside Interval: Perfect Fifth
