After three years, severe desparaties between old
and new songs got Koudanshi frontman Derek Zwiener to
thinking. "I think this breakup will allow for a much more
accessable sounding record from both bands. Smolder and Blind,
[what would've been Koudanshi's fifth album] will still be
released, but it's a hybrid album. Very experimental as far as
instrumentation and texture goes. It's recieved good reviews so far,
so our work hasn't gone unnoticed." Opaque Records subsequently signed
both bands to a very open-ended contract, expecting new albums from
both bands in or before the fourth quarter of 2006.

Worker Nine Dropped
Due to certain conflicts, as well as relative inactivity,
Worker Nine has been dropped from our label. We'd like
to take the opprotunity to say that we were looking forward
to the new album, but apparently Worker Nine didn't have
the same enthusiasm.

Smolder and Blind: New Koudanshi Digital Album
After assembling demos for a number of months,
Koudanshi's next album is taking shape. However, Derek,
Patrick and Ian will be taking an entirely different approach
about their next release. After years of being a strictly
instrumental project, Derek will be taking up vocals for
this upcoming ablum. The whole group is very excited about this
new project, and even more so about performing this material live.

Koudanshi to Re-record Songs in Offical Studio Debut!
After three years of being a solo, straight digital project,
Koudanshi will be going to the studio to re-record 16 songs
from old albums, as well as up to 20 new songs, written and
sung by Derek Zwiener himself. With all this new mateiral,
there's no doubt there will be plenty of new releases in
the future.

Chupacabra vs Pixels of Death : An Infernal Wind Betrays Us
Information from both Chupacabra and Pixels of Death confirm
that all the material and artwork for their split, "An
Infernal Wind Betrays Us," is completed. There is, really,
no release date as both bands have specifically said they
want this album to be as "free as air." And so it shall be.
Koudanshi has volunteered to personally supply copies of
"An Infernal Wind Betrays Us" at his show on October 8th.

Koudanshi to perform at Gameworks Studios: October 8th!!!
The performance date for Koudanshi's live debut is confirmed
as Friday, October 8th. He will be performing with local bands
"Against All Odds," and "Misery Likes Company." The show
should start at 7:00 PM, and it should be amazing. If you're
at all capable of making it to this show, it would be worth
your time. Entrance charge is $5. Support Independent Music!

has been released. Chupacabra announced the intended release
of the split CD on their website, here, and will
be the most reliable source of information relating to the

In a separate update, Chupacabra is readily assembling

New Koudanshi EP slated for release!
After taking time to work on new material, Koudanshi has finished
recording his next album, "Have Mercy, Antevorta." Mixing is still
incomplete as of right now, but the new CD, as well as all of the
other CDs to be sold on the site, will be up on CDBaby.com as soon as
