Few days ago, the CNN released videotapes showing Al-Queida torturing dogs for making experiments for their chemical arsenal. It is not surprising to hear that Bin Laden, after what he has done, and threats to do to the humanity in the future, has now unleashed heinous war crimes against our best friends too. I urge the humanity to condemn this act and punish Bin Laden who has turned against our greatest allies after hitting us.

But as the whole world is shocked and disgusted by these pictures, we should remember that more or less the same thing happens every day at chemical warfare research centers in "civilized" countries. The only difference, except the intentions of the use of the weapon, is that when Al Queida does that it is a much better scoop. No sane reporter would break or infiltrate into an American or Israeli research center and picture the experiments.

While we have no control over Al Queida's actions, I am sure that the American army and intelligence are doing all they can for locating Bin Laden, his scientists and their despicable experiments places. On the other hand, citizens of Democratic countries do have control on their governments. They can demand that the animal experiments will be for defensive measures only, and use the best technology and the least live examples as possible. A non-military figure must supervise the experiments and have a veto right against them. It is time to reduce the double standards and look at our own backyard.
