Coonstar Boostah, the young president of the Awakening Archipelago, summons Ruby because of a series of events taking place in the islands. The inhabitants of the archipelago are adopting the customs and philosophy of a fantasy called "The Land of Zoots." But this story isn’t written out as a book, a television series, a movie, or anything that people would read and become aware of. So how are people finding out about this crazy fantasy world, and why are they trying so desperately to recreate it?
By far, the shortest of the Ruby series, Ruby 5 resorts back to the old 3-minute episodes of Ruby 1 and 2. This was probably an attempt to revive the "old ways," but then, who knows? It also wavers on the sillier end of the entertainment spectrum, but it’s worth listening to so as not to miss out on the great ideas and humor that is prominent in all ZBS broadcasts.
Considering the well tied-up ending of Ruby 4 and the division of Summa Nulla and all of our "familiar" characters becoming inhabitants of the 5th dimension, you’d think there would be no follow-up to such a climatic conclusion. But nope, once again, ZBS has altered the odds and Ruby 5 has come into the light. And the story still continues with Ruby 6...
